About the Therian Guide
Everything at the Therian Guide is designed to provide a safe space to learn more about your personal identity. We offer insightful resources, personal stories, and helpful guides so you and your family members can better understand this self-discovery journey. Whether you’re brand new to shifting or have been in the therian lifestyle for a while, we are your go-to source for learning, support, and engaging with fellow non-humans.
Inside our site, you’ll find a range of content from educational articles about therianthropy to in-depth guides on how to identify your therian identity.
A quick FYI for all the supportive family members out there – a therian identifies (spiritually or psychologically) as having a non-human connection with an animal. Such feelings are deep seated and show up as behaviors or instincts from the particular animal you’re most aligned with. This is known as your “theriotype” and can range from wolves to big cats to eagles, mythical creatures, reptiles, and more.
With so many people confusing therianthropy with all kinds of strange practices, the Therian Guide offers support and knowledge so everyone feels accepted.

Who We Are
Our founder, Therian Dad, started Therian Guide after trying to understand his 13-year-old daughter better. He took the time to contact other parents and therians while researching the larger online community. Instead of finding anything dangerous or confusing, he discovered a vibrant group of non-humans interested in quadrobics, making therian masks, and connecting with other therian packs.
Since then, Therian Dad has brought in other writers, therians, and parents from all over the globe to discuss what being a therian means, what resources should be available, and how to educate everyone on therianthropy.
With so many challenging things happening around the world, finding his daughter happy and enjoying this personal identity fuels many of the articles and guides you’ll find in this community.
If you have any questions for Therian Dad or want us to cover a specific topic in our many articles, don’t hesitate to contact The Therian Guide – we’ll respond when available.
